07.21.12 Mud Dawgs Take 1st At Ian Thomas!

Mud Dawgs are #1 in Cartersville!

Despite the crazy thunderstorms throughout the day, Mud Dawgs go 5-0 for an undefeated win for the day!
Called off the field because of some serious lightning.

J & Silent Bob...lol.

Tired of being cooped up in the dugout, we ventured out for a game of Pepper.

Waiting for the next game by checking out the humongous catfish in the lake.

Waiting on that darn rain...again!

06.30.12 Supporting the Boys

Some of our Mud Dawg boys played in the big Fourth of July tournament in Aragon, Georgia and us girls just had to show our support.

The temperature was a sweltering 100+ both days, but the boys held their own.

They ended up taking 3rd overall. Way to go!!

07.07.12 Hosting At Deerlick Again

Our second Mud Dawgs tournament of the season was just as much fun as the first one. The weather was gorgeous and a bit cooler most of the day. Everyone had a great time and the competition was fierce.

Helpers for the day included:

Director: Cindy Hogan

Umpires: Tony, Courtney, Mike, Daniel, Amanda & Sheron (relief)

Scorekeepers: Sheron, Brooke & Amanda

Player fill-in: Bear (she sported some funny sock lines by day's end)

The winning team got to take home a bat of their choice. A big thanks to all the teams who came out and supported us.

Batting for Boobies

Mud Dawgs took 2nd place this weekend at the Bats for Boobs tournament at Deerlick Park in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

The team started off the morning with a win and continued the streak all the way to the Championship game.

The Championship game we lost by 1 point in the 6th inning after finding out it was a timed game and not a 7 inning game as normal. Boo.

In the "If" game, the opposing team took a big lead but we came back late in the game to tie and eek ahead. Unfortunately, some homerun allowances toward the end of the game led the other team to win by about 4 runs. Overall, every one played well and had fun hanging out all day.

Some Mud Dawgs even helped out a little. Tony & Robert took a turn as umpires, and Sheron & Courtney helped keep score. Cindy Hogan was busy all day helping with different aspects of the tournament to keep it flowing on schedule. Great job Cindy!

A special thanks to Brooke's Dad, Jamie, for coming out and volunteering his time as an umpire! It was nice to see him and the rest of the French family come out for a good cause.

Next up, Mud Dawgs play at Johnson Park in Conyers on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Let's see if they can take it all in this one! Stay tuned to find out!

Mud Dawgs are #1 in Conyers!

This past Saturday, in Conyers, Mud Dawgs played 5 games (going 4-1) to take First Place in their second tournament of the year!

Conyers USSSA 03/24/12 - #1

We started off against P Family at noon that day and won. Our next game was our only loss to the Panthers by one run. We just couldn't get the bats going.

The next game up we run in to P Family again and come out hitting. We win the game and go on to double-dip the Panthers to take 1st.

Brooke, Court, Sheron & Cindy striking a pose.
Daniel & Robert competed hard for best offensive player all day! Chris and Brooke made a great team taking outs at second and Amanda held her own at first. She made everybody look good!

Chillin' between games

All in all, it was a beautiful day spent playing ball and hanging with great friends! It's always a good time!

"All skate, everybody skate" - Duece

After the last game, we celebrated with a lot of laughs and "musical chairs" at Buffalo Wild Wings in Conyers.

Next up, Mud Dawgs play April 14, 2012 at Deerlick Park for Bats for Boobs. It's their 5th appearance in this fun tournament for a great cause. Come out and join us! Email me for more information.

3rd Place at Wilkersonville Park

Court + Sheron + Brooke = Trouble

We played 6 games this past Saturday at Wilkersonville Park in Palmetto and had a blast! Our record at the end of the day was 4-2. We took 3rd place out of 14 teams. Not too bad for the first tournament of the year.

Duece & Court

Special thanks to Justin, Mike's son, for coming out and playing with us after our original pick-up for the day, Benton, ditched us after the second game.

A & Brooke

After the game, the team celebrated at Taqueria in Douglasville. Things went well until we were ready to leave and our waitress had disappeared...literally! The other waitress that was helping her helped us check out instead.

Eating, drinking & being merry

Overall, it was a great day with good friends. We look forward to playing together again in 2 weeks (03.24.12) for a USSSA tournament at Johnson Park in Conyers. Check back for more details.

A New Year...

We ended the year with a Christmas party hosted by Cindy & Tony at their house. It was a blast!
Now that the new year is under way, the softball jitters have started up and we are all ready to play ball again. Not sure when the first tournament will be or what the schedule looks like just yet, but we are all hopeful it will start soon! Check back often for more updates coming soon!
